My career has never followed a particularly straight line. Racing bikes somehow led to film making, global brands and building a business from scratch into an internationally recognised creative agency.
Now I help others make sense of what comes next.
I started out racing mountain bikes. That led to filmmaking, directing some of the most iconic sports content on YouTube and, eventually, building Cut Media into an internationally recognised creative agency.
From Scotland, I built and led a team delivering projects across six continents for global brands including Red Bull, Nike and Warner Bros. Discovery. At its peak, the agency generated nearly £3m in annual revenue, while some of our work was seen by hundreds of millions of people.
But the most valuable experience came from building the business around the work. Developing long-term client relationships, leading teams, navigating growth and change, making difficult commercial decisions and learning how to turn ambitious ideas into something that could actually be delivered.
Athlete. Director. Founder. Advisor.
Each chapter changed how I see the next one.
That experience allows me to connect strategic thinking and creative ambition with the realities of execution, leadership and commercial growth.
It has also taught me that the strongest work rarely begins with content. It starts by understanding what a business is trying to achieve, what its audience genuinely cares about and where the right idea, partnership or opportunity can create value for both.
Today, I bring that experience to founders, brands and leadership teams navigating growth, change and opportunity. I work as a strategic advisor, help brands turn positioning into distinctive partnerships, ideas and storytelling, and selectively executive produce ambitious projects that deserve to exist.
I live in the Trossachs with my wife and our two children. Bikes are still a constant, but these days life is shaped just as much by family, community and the outdoors.
And if you know me through cycling, there’s a fair chance you still know me as the person behind “those Danny MacAskill films.” I’m fine with that.
